The Nursing Department seeks an experienced Cardiology/CCU Clinical Nurse Specialist. You will be an experienced individual with demonstrated competency in clinical judgment that is educated to access, and is willing to share knowledge both within nursing and across discipline boundaries. You will carry a patient caseload in your designated specialty (Cardiology/CCU) and ensure that the plan of care is developed and executed by the health care team. You will coordinate your particular specialty and facilitate collaboration among all members of the multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- You will perform case management, discharge planning, and utilization review and must be knowledgeable in the management of change, Quality Improvement, and Risk Management.
- You will have a thorough understanding of research and evidence-based practice and practice advances. You will manage specialty patient populations and facilitate collaboration among members of the multidisciplinary team.
- You will integrate the most up to date technology into care process.
- You will synthesize information from multiple sources and levels of care, communicating knowledge from the bedside to the boardroom.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Nursing required
- Current nursing (RN) license in Canada or the United States, and
- A minimum of three to five years of current experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the relevant specialty (Cardiology/CCU) after receiving Master's, which must be gained in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital in the USA or Canada.
