Responsibilities:
- Perform all managerial functions
- Maintain disaster and fire preparedness
- Promote the involvement of nursing in community health awareness programs
- Support and monitor the Quality Improvement/Risk Management interventions and evaluate outcomes of patient care.
- Perform annual appraisals on supervisors and review the appraisals of all staff
- Promote patient advocacy and facilitate activities that focus on patient care
- Facilitate the collection of pertinent patient care data identifying trends and potential implications.
- Allocate staff and financial resources to meet patient care needs and economical and efficient operations.
- Plan and report the future needs of the unit for input into the annual operating plan.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- Master's degree in Nursing very strongly preferred
- Current nursing (RN) license in Canada or the United States, and
- A minimum of 15 years of experience as an RN, of which at least five years of current experience must be gained in managing the relevant area (outpatients) in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital in the USA or Canada.
