Responsibilities:

• Perform all managerial functions
• Maintain disaster and fire preparedness
• Promote the involvement of nursing in community health awareness programs
• Support and monitor the Quality Improvement/Risk Management interventions and evaluate outcomes of patient care.
• Perform annual appraisals on supervisors and review the appraisals of all staff
• Promote patient advocacy and facilitate activities that focus on patient care
• Facilitate the collection of pertinent patient care data identifying trends and potential implications. 
• Allocate staff and financial resources to meet patient care needs and economical and efficient operations. 
• Plan and report the future needs of the unit for input into the annual operating plan.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
• Master's degree in Nursing very strongly preferred
• Current nursing (RN) license in Canada or the United States, and
• A minimum of 15 years of experience as an RN, of which at least five years of current experience must be gained in managing the relevant area (outpatients) in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital in the USA or Canada.
