The DPU annually provides service to over 2202 patients, ages infant through geriatric, with regard to nursing care prior to, during, and following surgical, invasive and endoscopic procedures, both elective and emergency.

The Endoscopy Unit is situated on the second floor in the hospital. The unit is utilized by eight (8) doctors The Endoscopy Unit has a dedicated washroom where endoscopes are processed. The Endoscopy Unit is equipped with OLYMPUS endoscopes 160 series and two (2) STERIS machines for sterilization of endoscopes. Items that need to be autoclaved are sent to CSSD. The Endoscopy Unit is a growing unit which performs thirty-nine (39) different procedures. The average monthly census is 140 cases.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Valid nursing license from either the United States or Canada
• Minimum four years of recent experience at a large North American acute-care hospital, of which at least one year of current, full-time experience must be in a similar role in day procedures/endoscopy.
