The Department of Anesthesiology provides a very important and vital function within the Hospital. Patients who come to King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre–Jeddah are rendered pain-free while they undergo various types of surgical procedures. The Department functions within guidelines of highly recognized international bodies aiming to provide the safest and most recent technology available in anesthesia and pain management.

The Department is equipped with a state of the art anesthesia delivery system, which is second to none in the entire Middle East and the West. Open heart pediatric anesthesia service, management of difficult airways, heart and lung transplantation services are the hallmark of the Department.

The Department operates a well-organized Pain Clinic specializing in the control of acute and chronic pain. The Acute Pain Service Clinic was originally established to provide relief of post-surgical pain using modern methods of acute pain management that invariably lead to shorter hospital stays.

Requirements:

• American Boards or Canadian FRCPC in Anesthesiology, and
• A minimum of three years post-specialty certification experience in anesthesiology in North America.
