The Emergency Medicine Department at the King Faisal Specialist Hopital & Research Centre in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia sees approximately 36,000 patients per year (equivalent to 120 patients per day).
Because the King Faisal is an inner city referral centre in Jeddah, the ER receives primarily medical, cardiac and pediatric emergencies. It sees very little trauma. 30%-35% of the patient population is pediatric.
The department has 10 Emergency Medicine doctors on staff. The three-vehicle Ambulance Service is outfitted with the most modern resuscitation equipment.
Requirements
- Must hold American Boards in Emergency Medicine / Canadian FRCPC in Emergency Medicine / Canadian CCFP-EM, and
- A minimum of three years post-specialty certification experience in emergency medicine in North America.
