The Department of Family Medicine is a Primary Care Department. Patients eligible to be seen in the department include the following:
1. Employees
2. Dependents
3. Royal Order patients
4. Cash patients
5. Credit patients ( ARAMCO, Saudi Airlines, Insurance Companies )
The majority of patients are hospital employees and dependents. The department runs an appointment system to enable adequate time to be scheduled for each patient. As well, an urgent care/ walk-in service for those patients who require to be seen urgently. (In a serious emergency situation patients will be seen in the Emergency Department). The Department see over 30,000 patients per year.
Requirements
- American Boards or Canadian CCFP
- A minimum of ten years post-specialty certification experience in Family Medicine in North America, and
- A minimum of three years of experience as a department head
