The Senior Medical Technologist - HLA at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, will perform the duties of a Medical Technologist in addition to acting in a lead capacity for the HLA Loaboratory Unit performing the following duties:
- Organizing work flow and day-to-day operation of the HLA unit,
- Assigning staff to maximize efficiency and productivity,
- Ensure that optimum levels of supplies are available to provide uninterrupted services,
- Assist in the development of new methodologies,
- Update policy and procedure manuals,
- Perfrom analyses, tests and procedures per established Laboratory Standards, and
- Assist the Section Supervisor in ongoing employee appraisal
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree/Associate’s degree/Diploma in Medical Technology, and
- Current registration with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS), and
- A minimum of two years experience as a registered Medical Technologist in a mid- to large-sized hospital in North America with a minimum of one year in a similar supervisory role.
