The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is an integrated clinical and pathological service.  It is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).  The laboratory is fully computerized (it uses the Cerner Client Server Laboratory Information System), and it provides a broad range of clinical laboratory services. In 2006, the laboratory performed more than 6.3 million tests.

Reporting to the Chairman of the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, the Head of the Laboratory is responsible for the administration and coordination of all activities within the department.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, and
• Master’s degree in management, and
• Current registration with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS), and
• A minimum of nine years experience, with a minimum of four years experience in a management capacity, in a large laboratory in North America.
