The Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and Communication Sciences at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia has a fully-equipped temporal bone lab and offers state-of-the-art technology that includes a CO2 laser, operating microscope with navigation systems, and audiovisual with 3D video systems.
There are five Consultant Otolaryngologists on staff and, annually, the department sees over 1,300 operating room cases and over 24,800 outpatient clinic visits. In 2006, 36 cochlear implants were performed.
Prior to offering a permanent one- or two-year contract, the hospital invites doctors for a one-month locum. This provides an opportunity to see the hospital, the department, Riyadh, and Saudi Arabia before making a long-term commitment.
Requirements:
- American Boards or Canadian FRCSC in Otolaryngology, and
- A minimum of three years post-specialty certification experience as an Otolaryngologist in North America.
