The Department of Neurosciences at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia manages patients with brain and spinal tumors and neurovascular anomalies.
The five Neurosurgeons on staff perform complex neurosurgical interventions using state-of-the-art technology including: neuronavigation, navigational microscope, intraoperative monitoring, cortical mapping, frameless and frame-based stereotaxy, and interventional neuroradiology. In 2006, neurosurgery performed almost 600 operating room cases.
Prior to offering a permanent one- or two-year contract, the hospital invites doctors for a one-month locum. This provides an opportunity to see the hospital, the department, Riyadh, and Saudi Arabia before making a long-term commitment.
Requirements:
- American Boards or Canadian FRCSC in Neurosurgery, and
- A minimum of three years post-specialty certification experience as a Neurosurgeon in North America.
