Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
The Pediatric ICU at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia treats patients aged newborn to 14 years.
Primary conditions seen in the 18-bed PICU are:
- congenital heart disease and pre- and post-operative cardiac surgery
- hematology/oncology (with complications)
- immuno-compromised patients
- acute metabolic disorders (e.g. MSUD)
- surgical patients (general, neuro, vascular)
- ENT
- endocrinology
Prior to offering a permanent one- or two-year contract, the hospital invites doctors for a one-month locum. This provides an opportunity to see the hospital, the department, Riyadh, and Saudi Arabia before making a long-term commitment.
Requirements:
- American Boards or Canadian FRCPC in Pediatrics and Critical Care, and
- A minimum of three years post-specialty certification experience as a Pediatric Intensivist in North America.
