The Emergency Department at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia sees more than 40,000 patient visits per year (equivalent to between 100 and 150 visits per day). Approximately 70% of patients are adult and 30% are paediatric.

Each 12-hour shift is staffed by 12 Registered Nurses, including one Charge Nurse. There is also a VIP area and a Fast Track area, which are staffed by two Registered Nurses for each eight-hour shift.
