Department of Ambulance Services:
- The Paramedic Department follows the American DOT standards and protocols.
- Provision of Emergency and/or Critical Care transfers on a 24-hour basis.
- Provision of emergency response to protocol patients, 24-hour basis.
- Respond to Hospital housing, employees, and their dependents on a 24-
hour basis.
- Assist Hospital Safety, Security, and Communications staff with any Fire
alarm.
- Assist with Code Greens and code blue in the East Wing of the Hospital
(Adult and pediatric cardiac arrest).
- Staff secondary sites with trained EMS staff as required.
- Play a major role with the hospital’s disaster and decontamination response.
- Provide in-services and training for EMT student and other hospital staff
- Enhance the image of the department through education of allied health
care workers affected by the delivery of our service.
- Continually improve and develop the emergency response and critical
services for the patients of the hospital.
Job Summary: Develops, implements and evaluates educational and skill maintenance programs. Coordinates clinical rotations and other aspects of performance.
- Works with the Paramedic Medical Director and Paramedic Supervisor in all aspexts of development, implementation and evaluation of educational programs as well s continuous quality improvement.
- Liaises and coordinaes in-service training; clinical rotation of Paramedics.
- Develops, implements and evaluates policies, procedues, protocols and standing orders in conjunction with the Medical Director/Paramedic associations.
Requirements:
- MUST have a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Health Services/Paramedic
- Must hold Advanced Care Paramedic or National Registered Paramedic (NREMT/P) certification.
- Minimum FIVE (5) years experience as Certified/Registered Paramedic working in North America, including TWO (2) years in a supervisory/clinical coordinator capacity.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification or ACLS, PALS and NRP as a provider are required.
Note: Only applicants who hold a BSc in Emergency Health Services will be considered.
