At the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the 27-bed inpatient Nephrology, Liver, and Renal Transplant Unit cares for both adult and pediatric patients.
Patients with acute renal failure and end stage renal disease are treated at the hospital-based hemodialysis units. Approximately 1,300 hemodialysis and hemofiltration patients (pediatric and adult) are treated per month.
In 2006, 140 kidney transplants were performed and 37 liver transplants were performed (27 were cadaveric and 11 were living donor.
The Clinical Instructor is responsible for coordinating continuing education in collaboration with the department of Nursing Development & Saudiization and with the unit’s Education Coordinator (to whom s/he reports directly).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and
- Current nursing license in Canada or the United States, and
- A minimum of five years experience as a Registered Nurse at a large acute-care teaching hospital in North America, including a minimum of one year as a Clinical Instructor.
