Nurses in the Cardiac Care Unit at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia function within a total care nursing system. The 18-bed unit treats adult patients with a diagnosis of cardiac origin.
The most common conditions include:
- acute coronary syndrome
- CHF/cardiomyopathy
- recurrent/malignant dysrhythmias
Patients receiving pre-cutaneous interventional procedures for cardiac conditions are also treated.
Nurse to patient ratio:
1 : 1 critically ill patients (e.g. patients who are vented or have multiple drips)
1 : 2 stable patients
Shifts are 12-hours in length and follow the American rotation. Overtime is available.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree or Diploma in Nursing, and
- Current nursing license in Canada or the United States, and
- A minimum of two years experience as a Registered Nurse working in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital in North America.
