The Perioperative Nursing Program consists of 5 areas with a total complement of 183 Staff Nurse positions and 43 Management and Support staff positions. Amongst these areas are the Day Surgery Unit and a Pre-Anesthesia Clinic. 

The Day Surgery Unit (DSU) consists of

  • a Pre-Operative preparation area
  • a Phase 1  Recovery Room
  • a Phase 2  Recovery Room.

The Pre-Anesthesia Clinic assesses all aurgical patients pre-operatively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree or Diploma in Nursing, and
  • Current nursing license in Canada or the United States, and
  • A minimum of two years experience as a Registered Nurse working in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital in North America.
