The Endoscopy Unit is a tertiary referral unit which provides treatment and supportive nursing care to adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients. These patients usually present with gastrointestinal conditions which may require both diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. The Endoscopy Unit also provides treatment for patients requiring pulmonary diagnostic procedures and minor renal tract investigations.

Frequent Procedures/Services/Functions:
• Upper GI Endoscopy
• Colonoscopy
• Motility, manometry, and pH studies
• Esophageal dilatation
• Esophageal banding and sclerotherapy
• Esophageal stent placement
• Endoscopic ultrasound
• ERCP - diagnostic
• ERCP with sphincterotomy and stent placement
• Capsule Endoscopy
• Urodynamic and uroflow studies

Monthly Patient Volume: 400 -500

Hours of Operation
5 days per week: Saturday - Tuesday 07:30 – 18:00
Wednesday 07:30 – 17:00
On Call services are provided after working hours and at the weekend.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree or Diploma in Nursing, and
  • Current nursing (RN) license in Canada or the United States, and
  • A minimum of two years of current, full-time experience as a Registered Nurse, working in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital in North America, of which at least one year must be in endoscopy.

Due to cultural restrictions, the positions are reserved for FEMALE candidates.
