The Medical Cardiology Unit at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, provides comprehensive 24-hour nursing care for stable adult patients. The unit consists of 28 beds:

  • 21 cardiology beds,
  • 3 thoracic beds, and
  • 4 protocol beds (medical patients)

The most common conditions are:
 
• Post acute coronary syndrome
• Heart failure (pulmonary and congestive)
• Cardiomyopathy for medical management and cardiac transplant workup
• Endocarditis
• Arrhythmia management
• Cardiac risk management  (hypertension, lipidemia, diabetes control)
• Pre-op surgical open heart 
• Stable post CABG/valve (transferred from CVT) 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree or Diploma in Nursing, and
  • Current nursing license in Canada or the United States, and
  • A minimum of two years experience as a Registered Nurse working in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital in North America.
