The King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is the primary tertiary-care referral hospital for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The hospital receives general medical patients with high levels of acuity in the following units:
- Medical Unit (39 beds): provides care to patients with diabetic, chronic, respiratory diseases, HIV, hepatitis, growth deficiency, arthritic and thyroid cancer conditions. This patient population requires diabetic teaching, multiple respiratory treatments, isolation, RAI treatment and multiple blood tests.
- Adult Neurology and Medicine Unit (26 beds): provides care to patients aged 14 years and older with neurology disorders (e.g. TIAs, CVAs, MS, Parkinson’s Disease, cerebral tuberculosis granulomas) and with diseases that require pre- and post-supportive radiation therapy care.
There is also a 38-bed combined Medical/Surgical VIP Unit, which provides acute and long-term care to members of the royal family, high-ranking government officials, and foreign dignitaries.
Medicine nurses function within a total care nursing system. The majority of patients will have a family member with them 24/7 during their hospital stay.

Shifts are 12-hours in length and follow the American rotation. Overtime is available.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree or Diploma in Nursing, and
- Current nursing license in Canada or the United States, and
- A minimum of two years experience as a Registered Nurse working in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital in North America.
