The Palliative Care Unit at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riydah, Saudi Arabia, has 7 beds and treats both adult and pediatric who are in need of acute aggressive symptom management, respite and terminal care.
Frequent Procedures/Services/Functions:
• Medication delivery including radiation administration and management
• Patient/family education
• 12 lead EKG
• Patient assessment and evaluation
• Blood products administration
• Management of artificial airways
• Chest tube management
• Oxygen therapy and pulse oximetry
• Central IV line management
• Maintenance of skin integrity
• Pain management including epidural pain management
• Palliative Radiation therapy management
• Bereavement care
• Spiritual care
• Emotional support
• Wound care
• Ostomy care
• Family Conferences
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Valid nursing license from either the United States or Canada
- Minimum of four years of experience at a large North American acute-care hospital, including one-year of recent experience in a similar role.
