The 28-bed acute-care Medical Pediatrics Unit at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia treats patients from neonates to age 14 years. Cases include endocrinology, gastroenterology, genetics, infectious diseases, pulmonology, and rheumatology. Most patients will have a family member with them 24/7 for their entire hospital stay. Nurses in the unit function within a total care nursing system.

Nurse to patient ratio:
1 : 3 or 4 during day shifts
1 : 4 or 5 during night shifts

Shifts are 12-hours in length and follow the American rotation. Overtime is available.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree or Diploma in Nursing, and
  • Current nursing license in Canada or the United States, and
  • A minimum of two years experience as a Registered Nurse working in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital in North America.
