The Department of Safety, Security, & Communications ensures a safe and secure working and living environment for patients at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as well as for the staff living in the hospital’s employee housing.
The Safety Officer is responsible for:
- fire protection and emergency responses, including all fire alarm responses and firefighting requirements
- evaluating safety requirements
- conducting facility safety surveys and inspections
- inspecting and testing fire detection/protection systems
In 2006, more than 2,100 employers completed training in fire and safety procedures, there were 140 occupational injury incidents, and 1,700 incidents that required investigation.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Safety/Loss Prevention, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Safety, or Environmental Safety, and
- A minimum of three years experience as a Safety/Loss Prevention or Occupational Health & Safety Officer in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital in North America.
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety/Loss Prevention, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Safety, or Environmental Safety, and
- A minimum of two years experience as a Safety/Loss Prevention or Occupational Health & Safety Officer in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital in North America.
