The Republic of Angola is located along the Atlantic coast in the southwestern part of Africa. To the north and east is the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and to the south is Namibia.

The country is almost twice the size of the state of Texas, and has a population of 13.3 million.

Due to its history as a Portuguese colony, Portuguese is an official language.
