The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC) is a modern, 1,000+ bed Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited academic medical facility located in Riyadh, the vibrant capital city of Saudi Arabia.

The Section of Pulmonary Medicine provides full range of tertiary care services in pulmonary medicine, outpatient clinics, in-hospital and ER patient care and consultation services. The Section provides quality of pulmonary service to the adult patient population of the Hospital. It has also established itself as a care-provider to the complicated pulmonary cases referred to us from all over the Kingdom and other Gulf countries.

Since the Lung Transplantation Program was established in 2003, the hospital has performed 100 lung transplants (on patients aged 13 to 65). (Statistic as of September 2016.)


  • MD Degree
  • Current, active medical license in: Canada, the United States, the UK, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand
  • National Board Subspecialty Certification in Pulmonary Diseases from Canada, the United States, the UK, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand
  • Fellowship in Transplant Pulmonology
  • A minimum of three years of current post-subspecialty certification experience working as a Consultant in Transplant Pulmonology in Canada, the United States, the UK, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand
  • Academic appointment and research experience preferred
