The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC) is a modern, almost 1,000-bed Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited academic medical facility located in Riyadh, the vibrant capital city of Saudi Arabia

Scope of Service:

The King Fahad National Center for Children's Cancer Research in Riyadh (commonly referred to as the "Children's Cancer Centre" or "CCC") at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is:

  • The largest dedicated pediatric cancer and blood disorders program in the Arabian Peninsula.
  • The largest pediatric stem cell transplant center in the region (it performed 114 stem cell transplants in 2006 alone).
  • The regional referral centre for complicated non-malignant hematological disorders.

The most commonly treated oncology/hematology disorders on this 20-bed pediatric hematology/oncology unit include:

  • Osteosarcomas
  • Ewing’s Sarcoma/PNET
  • Neuroblastoma
  • Medulloblastoma / CNS tumors
  • Brain tumors
  • Germ Cell Tumor
  • Wilm’s Tumor
  • Rhabdomyosarcoma
  • Retinoblastoma

Due to the predominance of pediatric oncology patients, the unit also provides acute care to this patient population. The most commonly treated oncology disorder includes:

  • Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
  • Acute Myelogenous Leukemia
  • Aplastic Anemia
  • Sickle Cell Anemia
  • Langerhan’s Cell Histiocytosis
  • Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
  • Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
  • Burkitt’s Lymphoma

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Master's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Current nursing (RN) license in: Canada, the United States, the UK, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand
  • If have a BSN: A minimum of six years recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital, including a minimum of two years of current, full-time experience as a Nurse Manager in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, at a large acute-care teaching hospital in Canada, the United States, the UK, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand
  • If have an MSN: A minimum of four years recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital, including a minimum of two years of current, full-time experience as a Nurse Manager in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, at a large acute-care teaching hospital in Canada, the United States, the UK, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand
