The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC) is a modern, almost 1,000-bed Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited academic medical facility located in Riyadh, the vibrant capital city of Saudi Arabia

KFSH&RC Hemodialysis (HD) Units are hospital-based units providing acute hemodialysis, chronic hemodialysis, Hemofiltration, Hemodiafiltration and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) for adult and pediatric patients. The patients are categorized as having acute renal failure or chronic renal disease and many have multiple medical diagnoses. Care is provided to patients of all ages from neonatal up. Their treatment regimen require close monitoring and prompt nursing intervention when necessary, to ensure a safe and comfortable treatment.

The Unit provides acute and chronic hemodialysis twelve hours per day, six days per week. Two on-call Staff Nurse I are available to cover acute cases when the Units are closed.

Vascular Access Intervention Suite specific: The Unit provides vascular intervention 10 hours per day, 5 days per week. An on-call staff is available to cover urgent cases when the theater is closed.

Monthly Patient Volume: 2000-2,300

Nurse Patient Ratio:

  • 1:1 Acute patients (needing more frequent monitoring)
  • 1:2 Acute Chronic unstable patients
  • 1:3 Acute Chronic stable patients
  • 1:1 Protocol patients (depending on patient needs: 2:1)
  • 1:3 Chronic patients (depending on patient stability)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (online programs cannot be considered)
  • Master's degree in Nursing preferred (online programs cannot be considered)
  • Current nursing (RN) license in: the United States, Canada, the UK, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand
  • If have a BSN: A minimum of six years recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital, including a minimum of two years of current, full-time experience as a Nurse Manager in Hemodialysis, at a large acute-care teaching hospital in the United States, Canada, the UK, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand
  • If have an MSN: A minimum of four years recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital, including a minimum of two years of current, full-time experience as a Nurse Manager in Hemodialysis, at a large acute-care teaching hospital in the United States, Canada, the UK, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand
