The King Faisal Specialist Hospital - Jeddah is a 470-bed tertiary specialist hospital located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

It is one of the three campuses of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre and specializes in Oncology, Cardiac, Transplant, and Neurosciences.

Job Summary

Provides comprehensive clinically focused staff orientation and professional development within area(s) of specialization utilizing the professional practice model. Supports the successful achievement of the Nursing Affairs strategic goals. Leads nursing practice development and quality initiatives in assigned area.

Unit:

The unit sees adult AND pediatric patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Unit consists of:

  • 2 Biplane Cath Labs
  • 1 Biplane hybrid Cath Lab
  • 4 bed Recovery Room

The Cardiac Cath Lab operates during normal working hours from 07:30am-5:00pm Sunday to Wednesday and 07:30am-4:30pm on Thursday. The unit provides a 24-hour service for both elective and emergency cases, provided by staff on regular shifts and additional coverage through on-call .

Cases include:

  • Selective coronary angiogram
  • Selective heart chamber and vessel studies for congenital heart disease
  • Cardiac Output studies
  • Shunt detection studies-right heart cath with multiple oxygen saturations
  • Mitral Balloon Valvuloplasty
  • Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty/stenting
  • Atrial/ventricular septal defect closure
  • Intra-aortic balloon pump
  • Dilatation of coarctation of the aorta
  • Temporary/permanent pacemaker insertion
  • Electrophysiology studies, Radio frequency ablation, and Atrial fibrillation
  • ICD implantation
  • Pericardiocentesis
  • Transaortic Valve Implant
  • Melody valve Implant
  • Left Atrial Appendage Occlussion

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (please note, online BSNs cannot be accepted)
  • Current nursing (RN) license from the United States, Canada, the UK, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand
  • A minimum of four years recent experience as a Registered Nurse in Cath Lab, in a mid- to large-sized acute-care/tertiary hospital in the United States, Canada, the UK, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand
  • Must have strong, formal experience as a preceptor/educator in cardiac cath lab in a clinical or academic setting
