The Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE (CCAD) is a 364-bed, tertiary-care, adult-focus hospital. CCAD is an extension of the US-based Cleveland Clinic’s model.

In all, more than 30 medical and surgical specialties are represented at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. The hospital officially opened in May 2015.

The Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Abu Dhabi (CCAD) is currently running 26 OR theatres.

The Multi-Organ Transplant Program started in December 2017, with a heart transplant, the first in the UAE. In May 2022, CCAD announced they had performed 100 liver transplants. At July 2021, the program had performed 82 kidney transplants, 52 liver transplants, 10 heart transplants, 6 lung transplants, 3 combined pancreas and kidney transplants, and a combined kidney and liver transplant.


NOTE: There are two vacancies: one for kidney and one for liver/kidney multi-organ (hybrid).

The nurse coordinator is responsible for overseeing the clinical care and nursing activity in their specific area and for contributing to the provision of safe patient and family focused care. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing nursing assessments, plan of care and evaluation of specific patient population and provides follow up care as necessary
  • Assisting in coordinating care of patients in their journey in the outpatient clinic, hospital stay, discharge process, and post discharge recovery period in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team members
  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures and protocols related to clinical speciality in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team incorporating evidence-based practice. Evaluates and modifies as required
  • Functions as a specific service liaison nurse while working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure timely and frequent communication among all caregivers and patients and their families
  • Functions as a specialist nurse to provide support and education to patients and their families in the specific specialty areas and to nursing staff in conjunctions with the Nursing education Department

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required (at least two years duration; online/distance programs cannot be considered)
  • Current RN license
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ current experience in the specialty practice (organ transplant coordination)
