CCAD Oncology Insitute

The oncology team comprises surgeons, oncologists, pathologists and allied health professionals to ensure comprehensive care across a range of cancer subspecialties and programs:

  • Blood Cancer
  • Breast Health
  • Endocrine Cancer
  • GI Cancer
  • Genitourinary Cancer
  • Head & Neck Cancer
  • Neuro-oncology
  • Ophthalmic Cancer
  • Soft Tissue Cancer
  • Thoracic Cancer


This position is responsible for development and managing an oncology rehabilitation service at CCAD. This is a senior position where you will be expected to start an oncology service that spans the full continuum of care from acute care to outpatients in the planning and delivery of a cancer exercise program in conjunction with multiple stakeholders with the support of the rehabilitation leadership team. The role includes the clinical requirement to assess and treat patients with the addition of service development and implementation.

Duties include:

  • Develop an oncology service that is in alignment within the current business and organizational priorities
  • Develop, locate and implement oncology specific key performance indicators to demonstrate clinical impact and service performance
  • Create, plan and deliver oncological education material for physical therapists and exercise physiologists in terms of assessment, treatment and clinical outcome measures
  • Provide progress report to rehabilitation manager that outlines opportunities and challenges with clear plan of ownership of solutions
  • Implements process flows improvements for safer and more efficient patient care across the areas they lead
  • Work effectively under pressure by balancing the clinical caseload of oncology patients with service development, monitoring and expansion


  • Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy/Physical Therapy or direct-entry Master's degree program in Physiotherapy/Physical Therapy (from a regionally accredited school)
  • Post-graduate qualifications in oncology preferred
  • Certification in service development or continuous quality improvement preferred
  • Current active Physical Therapist/Physiotherapist license
  • National registration as a Physical Therapist (e.g., APTA, HCPC, etc.)
  • Minimum of five years experience as a registered, licensed Physiotherapist in BOTH acute and outpatient rehabilitative care required
  • Minimum of two years current/recent experience as a registered, licensed Physiotherapist treating oncology patients required
  • Minimum of two years current/recent experience in service development and/or organization wide quality project work required
