Established in 1996, the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center is a 174-bed advanced cardiac hospital, which provides high-quality, comprehensive cardiovascular healthcare services to armed forced personnel and their dependants.

A 25-bed unit with 100% occupancy. The unit is divided into CCU-A (sub-acute: 17 beds) and CCU-B (acute: 8 beds) Admission includes both male and female patients 13 years of age and over.

Unstable or critically ill patients with cardiac disease or problems are admitted in CCU for assessment, treatment and monitoring.

Typical diagnoses include acute myocardial infarctions, unstable angina, cardiac arrythmias, congestive heart failure, pulmonary edema requiring ventilation, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, patients with multisystem failure and patients post cardiac arrest. Unstable patients with adult congenital heart disease are also admitted to CCU.

General ICU type patients are managed in CCU with conditions such as sepsis and acute renal failure.


  • An Associate's Degree in Nursing (or higher) online degrees are not accepted
  • Current nursing (RN) license in: Canada, the United States, the UK, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand
  • Minimum three years RN experience, including one-year of current experience in a Coronary Care Unit in Canada, the US, the UK, Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
