The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC) is a modern, almost 1,000-bed Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited academic medical facility located in Riyadh, the vibrant capital city of Saudi Arabia

Department Summary:

The department engages in clinical practice in 43 clinics in the outpatient wing of the main hospital and two satellite clinics. It is staffed by dentists (consultants, associate consultants, and general practice residents), dental hygienists, registered nurses, dental assistants, dental laboratory technicians, secretaries and other support staff.

Services provided include: general dentistry, specialty dentistry and hospital in-patient dentistry. Tertiary Care services are available for patients who are medically compromised, have facial pain, require maxillofacial or comprehensive prosthetics, have facial deformities, or require out-patient general anesthesia (with the Department of Anesthesiology) for dental treatment. The department provides team members to the Hospital’s Cleft Palate and Head & Neck Oncology Teams.

The Dental Clinic consists of all dental specialties:

  • General Practice
  • Endodontics
  • Orthodontics
  • Pedodontics
  • Periodontics
  • Prosthodontics, including maxillofacial
  • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  • Dental Hygiene

Dental Clinics operates 43 clinics in main hospital, 2 clinics in Family Health Building, and 2 clinics in Children’s Cancer Center, averaging 378 sessions per week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising dental clinic staff
  • Maintaining appropriate staffing levels
  • Overseeing Saudi dental assistant training programs
  • Overseeing and Coordinating Dental Clinic Quality programs
  • Recruiting and interviewing new staff
  • Developing, reviewing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and guidelines

Requirements

  • Graduation from a formal, accredited dental assisting diploma/certificate program from which you can get a transcript (programs for which transcripts are not available are NOT accepted)
  • Registered Dental Assistant or Certified Dental Assistant with Registration (RDA) or Certification (CDA) in Canada, the United States, the UK, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand
  • A minimum of five years of current, full-time employment experience working as a certified/registered dental assistant in Canada, the United States, the UK, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand, of which at least two to three years must be in a formal supervisory capacity in a multi-specialty setting (ideally in an acute-care setting)
  • Current BLS
