RN Licensing & Work Permits for Canada

Licensing for Canada

In Canada, individual provinces have their own licensing bodies. However, if a nurse has passed the NCLEX exam, s/he is exempt from writing another exam.

In addition to the NCLEX, nurses register through the National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS), which is a simple online form, and requires submission of documents such as proof of ID, proof of education, etc.

Work Permits for Canada

Under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), RNs who hold US citizenship are eligible for a NAFTA professional visa. The NAFTA visa can be obtained from the immigration officer when you enter Canada, provided you present:

• Job offer or contract,
• Proof that you have the required qualifications and experience (i.e., the documents referred to above in the licensing section),
• Valid passport,
• Fee payment.

Our agency has over 34 years of getting RNs licensed for international locations, and we support you through this application.
