April 25 to May 5, 2024: Riyadh: A must-see: the first opera performed in Saudi Arabia! Titled Zarqa Al Yamama, the opera will be performed by international and locally trained talents. Principle cast members include Dame Sarah Connolly, the world-famous British mezzo-soprano in the titular role of Zarqa Al Yamama, and sopranos Amelia Wawrzon (Australian/Polish) and Sawsan Albahiti (Saudi). The story is "... an ancient tale about a legendary Jadis woman with the gift of foresight. She sees a rival army threatening to destroy her people. May 1 to May 11, 2024: Jeddah: Fans of international table tennis can take in the Grand Smash 2024 World Table Tennis Championship, held for the first time in Saudi Arabia. The event features 64 individual players competing in Men's and Women's singles, and 24 pairs competing in Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Doubles. Qualifying action is May 1-3, main draw knock-out rounds are May 4-8, and the finals are May 9-11. Get your tickets for the event, which will be held at King Abdullah Sports City.

May 3, 2024: Riyadh: Moscow Ballet La Classique will entertain audiences with the famous ballet, Swan Lake, at Al Ahmar Theatre in Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University. Currently, they are offering both a matinee and evening performance on the 3rd.

May 3, 2024: King Abdullah Economic City (about an hour north of Jeddah): Groove on the Grass music festival (for ages 18+) will be held at Juman Park. The festival features local talents: Vinyl Mode, Dish Dash, Hats & Klaps, HiFi, and Smhar, alongside international DJs Satori and Deia. Click here for tickets. May 24-25, 2024: Jeddah: You lookin' for a fight? WWE presents Friday Night SmackDown on Friday 24th and King and Queen of the Ring on Saturday 25th. More details to come about the location of the SmackDown, but King and Queen of the Ring will be at the 35,000-seat Jeddah Superdome. Tickets will be released soon.
