Summary:
You will be part of a group practice which sees the entire range of patients, from pediatric to geriatric. In addition to your office practice, you will work rotations in the ER and admit patients to the 24-bed Hinton Healthcare Centre.
The hospital is a referral centre for a regional population of about 30,000. It offers all routine diagnostic services, including CT scanning and a mobile MRI.
The hospital has a full-time Orthopedic/Joint Replacement Surgeon and a General Surgeon on staff. Visiting Consultants in other specialties, primarily from University of Alberta academic centres, provide services, either onsite or remotely.
For physicians who thrive in the outdoors, Hinton offers an unparalleled opportunity to live and play in one of Canada’s most dramatic settings. Hinton, a gateway to the Rockies, offers endless trails for hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing; Hinton itself has 35 km of groomed trails, while the surrounding area has 300km of groomed trails, making it one of the largest cross-country ski areas in Canada.
For downhill enthusiasts, Jasper’s Marmot Basin ski resort, with its 91 runs and highest base elevation of any major Canadian ski area, is only 80 minutes away! And there are no wait lines for the lifts!
Finally, if you want varied work, and a busy, interesting practice where you can maximize your income in a location with a low cost of living, Hinton is for you.
